George Gkiaouris is EBRD’s Regional Head of Energy, responsible for managing EBRD’s energy investments and policy initiatives for Southeast Europe. George has more than 26 years banking experience, managing energy investments in emerging markets and transition economies. Since joining EBRD in 2001, George has supervised numerous energy transactions in Central and Southeastern Europe, involving project financings, bonds, syndicated debt and equity. In addition, George works extensively with Governments on designing energy sector policy reforms (e.g. developing regulatory frameworks, renewable auctions, privatizations, etc.) to help countries transition to a low carbon economy. Prior to working at the EBRD, George worked for Barclays Capital and for the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC), focusing in power sector financings in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Latin America. George was born in Kozani (Greece) and holds a Masters in Finance from Manchester University and a degree in Economics from Aristotle’s University of Thessaloniki.

Miquel Armengol, a seasoned Crude Oil Trader at Eni, specializes in North Sea crude oil trading. With over 6 years of experience in the commodities industry, he has honed his skills at renowned companies like Bunge, Repsol, and GMS Dubai. His expertise lies in market analysis, risk management, and optimizing trading strategies for complex energy commodities.

Bruno Brunetti leads the environmental and PPA markets analysis. Bruno is leading the Clean Energy Procurement research, which includes PPA pricing and environmental commodities forecasting. Bruno spent over 5 years at S&P Global Platts, leading the long-term power modelling and renewables capture prices forecasts. He also led the global wind and solar outlooks, while also expanding the analytics coverage into global power markets. Bruno spent over 15 years at PIRA Energy Group, now part of S&P Global, where he launched and managed the PIRA’s European Electricity Service, which provides market insights into the developments of power generation, demand, cross-border trading, and prices for Europe’s most relevant markets. Bruno graduated magna cum laude in economics andmanagement from Bari University (Italy) and obtained a masters in energy economics from the ENSPM/InstitutFrançaisduPétrole(Paris).
